Morgan A. Grain is an LA based writer, producer and filmmaker who was born in Orlando and bred in Atlanta, so she calls herself a Florida peach. After studying journalism at Florida A&M University she started her career in magazines and wrote for outlets like Essence magazine, PAPER.com, Harlem World Magazine, Huffington Post Black Voices and Okayplayer.com. Morgan pivoted to Hollywood after earning her master's in creative writing, film and black women in media studies from New York University. Her short film, GIRLS NIGHT IN, premiered at California Women’s Film Festival in 2022. She worked at Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals, in scripted development for film and TV at MTV and Warner Bros., and as a writers’ assistant on REASONABLE DOUBT for Hulu and HBO’s adaptation of Toni Morrison’s SULA before participating in the 2023 Disney Writing Program where she became a staff writer on Hulu’s one-hour drama TELL ME LIES.
